Richard Sapper designed this stovetop espresso maker for Alessi in 1979. An award winning stovetop espresso coffee maker, by German Product Designer Richard Sapper, in demand since its introduction. This innovative item won the Compasso d'Oro Award (1979), "Design Plus" Frankfurt/Main, Germany, 1983 and is in the Permanent Collection at the MOMA in NYC. The first kitchen item that Alessi manufactured that was attractive enough to be used directly at the table. More importantly it works as good as it looks.
