A di Alessi Mr Chin Phone Charm
These new objects are the continuation of 'The Chin Family' collection, created from the joint project between Alessi and the National Palace Museum in Taiwan. Stefano Giovannoni was asked to design a mascot to bring the National Palace Museum into the 21st century. From the mascot a series of little characters was created for the A di Alessi range, each of which has a household function.
The Chin Family even represents a new example of playfulness, instead of being made with a single injection as usually happens with the moulding technology used for plastics, the characters/objects are instead printed on individual pieces as if they were wooden figures or porcelain dolls and the details on their clothing's oriental decorations are painted by hand, typical of Giovannoni's design.
