Bobble reinvents the filtered water jug. The bobble jug is the next generation in filter water jugs from the people who made bobble - the iconic, reusable, patented water bottle that filters as you drink.
Designed by Karim Rashid for Move Collective, bobble jug is a faster, smarter, sleeker version of the squat, slow-filtering jugs that have hogged space in refrigerators for years.
Bobble jug’s elegant simplicity masks a feat of engineering. Standard jugs are designed with a “second reservoir”, effectively a waiting room for water that is separate from the primary chamber. The second reservoir drains slowly and typically needs to be filled more than once, creating a frustrating lag time before the water is available to drink. Bobble jug has no such handicap because the second reservoir has been eliminated, delivering crisp water in an instant.
Bobble jug is also unexpectedly slim but still manages to hold 2 litres of water. To ensure maximum holding capacity the handle holds water and the filter housing, common to standard jugs, has been eliminated yielding a cleaner, less cluttered aesthetic with no loss of capacity. Its sleek appearance allows it to double as a serving jug and the slim design allows it to slip neatly into refrigerator doors.
The two litre bobble jug is free of BPA, phthalates and PVC. The filter reduces chlorine, organic contaminants and metals such as copper, lead, mercury and
cadmium. The filters should be replaced after 150 litres of water.
